This has got to be one of the quickest, simplest, cheapest recipes out there.
1/2 cup of Oatmeal (Porridge)
1 cup of Milk
2 or 3 chopped dried apricots
- Place oats in a large deep bowl.
- Add milk (no need to stir)
- Put in the microwave for 2 minutes on high.
- Put in the microwave for another minute on high.
- Remove, stir and serve.
If you’re used to not adding sugar to food you’ll discover porridge has a natural subtle sweetness. The sugars naturally occurring in the oats and also the lactose from the milk.
For children though, try adding some chopped dried apricots on top when serving if you need to make it sweeter.
